Theme of the Week #4 - Naughty Labs

The neighbors lab is a very nice dog. His name is either JD or DJ. We aren't sure. He listens to every thing you say and he is really big! The bad thing about him? He chases chickens and scares goats. He doesn't try to hurt them or scare them, he just has presence. And now, a day late, Theme of the Weeks theme is Dogs or Naughty Dogs.

Grey Day and Goaty Portraits

The corn is gone. Yesterday, it was all taken away by a big loud machine thing. Our Human gave us long enough tethers to go a bit into the corn field and eat the left overs.
It also gives us nice access to burr bushes. The days are getting dreary and colorless. Green is being replaced with browns, greys and a bit of reddish orange.
I do wish we had our corn field back, it was fun to get lost in! And it was a pretty golden color.

Our Human was silly enough to cut herself doing the dishes on Monday night and had to go to the hospital and get 4 stitches in her right pinky finger. That's why goats don't do dishes. She says that the most painful part was when she had to get the shots for the nerve block. She HATES shots. And I'm just repeating what she told me!

Changing Leaves and Gold Expressions

The leaves are changing and falling off.
These leaves are probably already off the tree.

I gave these to the goats yesterday.

I really like the plants these seed pods come from. I love the big, heart shaped leaves.

I got some very nice close ups of Gold's mouth.
 Yummy cud!
I also got some shots of her doing goaty things, like for instance: Scratching with horns.
 Chewing on inanimate objects.
 Relaxing.
 Chewing on fingers.
 And looking surprised at nothing.

Theme of the Week #3

This weeks Theme of the Week is Preparing for Winter. Suggested by my mother after hearing about Scotsmen and their kilts from my brother. Why would bloggers post about Scotsmen? Or kilts for that matter? Unless they were Scottish bloggers or goaties of course.

Fluffy Goats and More Goodbyes

Goats are getting fluffy, winter coats for the cold, windy days ahead.
"What? Already? Winter is almost here? THIS IS TERRIBLE!"
Mmmm, yummy mineral lick. Gotta eat minerals for healthy babies!
Two ducks, a lot of chickens (30 exactly) and two goats. Four Button Quail, 4 cats and 3 rats.

Zoe and Silver went to a new home yesterday to live with a Grandma and her 9 year old granddaughter.
 Goodbye and good luck girls!

Goodbyes and (Hopefully) Future Hellos

I said goodbye to Tinkerbell on Tuesday. It was hard, seeing as I have raised him since the day after he was born. I watched him growing up, becoming a moody, smelly buck. But he was my baby and my first longtime, solely my own, goat. I will miss him dearly, but he was bought by one of my best friends grandparents neighbors. Confusing, I know.

I do hope to enjoy some baby goats next March. I can't wait for them to arrive. I can't put into words how much the joy of baby goats fills my heart, just thinking about them makes my heart race. Is that just me being weird? Or is it all goat owners who have experienced baby goats? I will probably obsess about them until they arrive and then I will obsess about how cute they are and how much I love them and so on and so forth.

Goodbye to Tinkerbell and hello to the next generation.

Y is for Yelling for Corn

Me? Please? Memememe? I can has corn burger?
Noooo! I can has corn burger! MEEEE! Please!
Look at all that corn! Just sitting there for the taking!
 Golden, yummy goodness!
WHAT? Why does he get some?! He doesn't got through the hardships of being a doe! Oh, the injustice!
WAHHH! Look at him gobble it up! He's not even savoring it! The tyranny! The cruelty! Other words that mean it's unfair!

Dancing the Rhumba

Uhura and Tinky danced the rhumba yesterday.
Gold and Tinky danced the rhumba today.
Silver stared longingly at Tinkerbell. She's not in heat yet!

You can always tell when Gold is in heat, she's very obvious. The most blatant sign? She attempts to mount Silver. This does not work for an obvious reason. They are both girls. So, let Gold out of pen watch her run (in seemingly slow motion) towards Tinky and let the magic begin! They seem to love dancing. Now, in about 5 months, we will have wonderful little goat kids. I can't wait!

Also, Tinkerbell will be leaving for a new home very soon. The girls came into heat just in time as it seems!

Beautiful Uhura in Golden Grass and a Blue Sky

The day was perfect on Friday.
The sun was shining, there was a cool breeze...
You could practically smell fall in the air.
 How was your weekend?

Theme of the Week #2 - Sunsets

This weeks Theme of the Week is sunsets. Suggested by my mother, after she suggested boogers... why did that pop into her head? I just burst into her room, all "Mom! Mom! Quick, what's the first thing that pops into your head?" Why boogers? Is that what she always thinks about? Boogers? So no, I vetoed boogers, and she said sunsets, so sunsets it is!

Sunday Nights at my House #4

Sunday
My Sunday night consisted of eating *mexi-feast for my dads birthday (he's turning 46) and trying to play the silent game with my sisters, this always ends up a giggle fest and tonight, Yolanda spit refried beans on Kid's face she was laughing so hard. This resulted in all of us cracking up and losing. Right before that, Yolanda fell over randomly in the kitchen.

Then we played Spin the Bottle, except instead of kissing (EW! WE'RE SISTERS!), we try to make each other laugh. This is fairly easy, I'm a giggle monster, my nickname is Gigi because I laugh so much, for crying out loud! If the bottle points to your own person, you have to make yourself laugh, without any outside influence. Of course, we tried to influence Yolanda, I tackled her and tried to poke her to make her laugh, she's not ticklish at all, I got it all. Then, Kid made her laugh, I'm still not sure how. Then we started throwing things at each other, I threw a little sample thing of dental floss at Yolanda and she threw the root beer bottle we were using at me.

Saturday
Yesterday at soccer for the younger kids, I stepped on a rock and twisted my ankle really badly. I was just standing there, and then suddenly I fell over and screeched "OW!" really loudly. Then one of our players dads had to practically carry me over to the chairs, where I went to my mom: "Mommy, can I sit down for a minute?" I don't usually call her mommy unless I really want something. My friend came up to me afterward and said "I'm sorry you're hurt, but that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen."  Now my knee hurts from limping all day and my ankle already hurt so that's just dandy. I really hate being hurt, I don't like not being able to run around and get hurt in less serious ways. Now I can't play in our game tomorrow, which sucks.

Now I must stop complaining and go to bed. Thank you for listening to my rants and funny stuff. Goodnight.

*Mexi-feast is a combo of tomatoes, lettuce, beans, cheese, black olives, yummy spicy chicken with enchilada sauce, tortillas, tostadas, and other yummy Mexican type things. It's a feast of Mexican things!

Silly Sunday - Silver's Ear Expressions

I know some of these pictures are blurry and not very good. I just couldn't pass up the ears!
