NOTE FROM PENNY: This page is solely from the Girl's point of view. If she says something weird, it's all her.
This blog started on June 18th 2010, I don't remember why I started it. My mom and dad say it counts as school work, so it's good for me apparently. The main focus of the blog was supposed to be Lily, when she passed away I guess I turned into a bit of a match-maker with the goats. I just wanted a new Lily, when I got over her death I came to terms with the fact that I was never going to get another Lily, she was one of a kind. Now most of the blogs come from Uhura's point of view, I guess she is my favorite goat right now. Now, I'm waiting for a new kid to be born, it looks like Gold is getting kind of close, I hope she has healthy babies. I know that I will never get another Lily, but I still miss her. When new kids arrive I will love them and value them, but Lily will always be my favorite.
***UPDATE*** June 1st, 2012
2012 has been a great year for goats. Uhura and Gold both had twin girls. I'm showing Gold's baby, Penny in the County Fair this year. I hope I win something! I will probably end up selling Cassie and one other goat. It's not that I want to, it's that I need to be able to keep up with care and bonding with all the others and even with six goats, I don't have as much time to play with certain babies as I'd like and in that, they aren't as tame and don't want to be played with and snuggled.
Penny is my little dream goat. I couldn't ask for a sweeter, more energetic and CUTE baby. You know when something (or someone) is born and you can just tell that they are going to turn out to be a great animal and friend? I felt that with Penny. After she was born, I immediately started imprint training her. I can't wait to breed her in December (this is the date I'm aiming for!) so I can have fresh goats milk starting in April or May.
